Urban Forest

This incredible necklace is one of a kind and takes hours to create. I’ve created a multi-layered micro-universe based on the idea of the city as an ecosystem. The kanji on this piece read ‘tree’ and ‘forest’.This necklace has incredible depth and many layers which are impossible to capture with a camera. The colors are very rich and deep, the photo does not do this piece justice. Every angle presents a shifting perspective which gives the piece real movement (much like the sculptures of Bernini unfold upon viewing from different angles). The individual elements hover above and around each other.
This pendant is set in a sterling silver bezel and hangs from an incredible, hand-cut amethyst (also lovely amethyst on the bottom). It includes many different materials including crystal, pinhole camera photo, carefully and delicately wrapped tiny roots from my garden, silk, and many other materials.
