Quintus Necklace

This incredible necklace is one of a kind and takes hours to create. I’ve created a multi-layered micro-universe based on the idea of semiotics. That is, the interpretation of images as symbols, sounds, ideas, and concepts. This necklace has incredible depth and many layers which are impossible to capture with a camera. Every angle presents a shifting perspective which gives the piece real movement (much like the sculptures of Bernini unfold upon viewing from different angles). The individual elements hover above and around each other.This pendant is set in a sterling silver bezel and hangs from a wine-colored rhodolite garnet. It includes many different materials including crystal, a pinhole camera picture, carefully and delicately wrapped silk strands, and encaustic elements.
