Custom House AiDolls Ange Ai Hani, Ange Ai Uri and The Ai Cebee Ball Jointed Dolls De-Stringing and Sanding
Step-by-step, this is how I de-strung my Custom House AiDolls Ange Ai Hani, Ange Ai Uri, and The Ai Cebee, and got them ready to sand, seal, and customize. The photos are reference photos I used to help me put them back together again. ^___^ They’re really interesting if you’d like to see how a ball jointed doll is made and what the individual pieces look like. There is also a before/after sanding comparison of my Ange Ai Hani at the bottom.
I’ve been super-busy this month competing in the Den of Angels 7th Anniversary Wicked Sweet Triathalon. I just submitted my final entry yesterday (so nervous! Wish me luck! ^___^), so this post is a bit less descriptive than I’d like, but I hope you get the gist of it. Please feel free to comment if you’d like be to explain a step!
I actually only ended up using the 400 grit sandpaper to get a nice finish. You can see how much more matte the torso is (pic below) in comparison to the thigh piece.
YOU MUST remember to use respiratory protection (a good face mask) if you are sanding your bjd’s. Resin dust is toxic for your lungs and stays in them. I use a welding mask after reading Tekenduis’ freakin’ scary article on Den of Angels.
