Anotherspace2 Kabu / Candy MSD Ball Jointed Doll (BJD) Box Opening

A belated box-opening of my beautiful birthday present, Anotherspace2 MSD Sweet Girl Candy (recently re-named from Kabu). I have named her Penelope Rose. I loved her so much that I’ve also ordered a Sweet Girl Pudding from Anotherspace2 as well!

Her shipping box arrived to me in very good condition! It was shipped within 2 weeks of placing my order. I’m very pleased that it arrived to be before the Canada Post strike held it up.

This was the case Kabu Candy arrived in. It arrived in great condition with no scratches or discolouration. Two external pockets perfect for wigs, clothes, and other accessories.

Anotherspace2 clothes for my pretty Kabu and her beautiful carrot red mohair wig can be seen sitting on top of the shoulder strap with Kabu Candy in her sleeping bag underneath.

I really liked these little cards. I’ve been collecting all of the cards my dolls come with, so I was happy to receive these from Anotherspace2 as well.

The cute girly MSD doll outfit for Kabu includes a red hat, a babydoll t-shirt with a neat neckline, a red vest with pockets, and some cute green pants with faux suede detailing. This outfit worked perfectly with my Kabu Candy because I was going for a younger, lighthearted look.

You can also see that the wig came with an adhesive velcro strip. The wig arrived in a hairnet with a cardboard shape-protector inside a plastic bag too. Very secure. It is so soft and gorgeous that I have a hard time not frizzing it up from touching it too much!

Just some views of the black sleeping bag. It’s a foldover deal with a seam at the bottom, open at the top, and secured with velcro at the side.

Here she is! Her face guard was gently taped in 3 places to her face with bubble wrap carefully wrapped around underneath.

Just…wow.

Her faceup is gorgeous.

The lines are so delicate and detailed. The artists at Estebebe are masters. The lines on her lips are incredibly fine with the best lip shadow line I’ve ever seen. Her lower eyelashes are evenly spaced and girlish. Her eyebrows are very delicate and soft. The shading and blushing is excellent. Wonderful colour choices for the skintone. The upper eyelashes are a good length with an appropriate density.

The overall effect is of a younger, solemn, soft-featured girl thinking deep thoughts.

She has a very distinct, graceful body shape with long, slender, expressive hands. Her hips do appear to be slightly wider than her shoulders, which really gives her a youthful appearance.

She is single-jointed and her body does seem to prefer specific (though very charming!) poses. I think that with a little sueding in her elbows and knees her body would be capable of a bit more resolution as far as subtle posing goes. I like the cute poses she seems to naturally want to slide in to. I particularly like how her knees go back past the 90 degree point when she’s sitting to make her look like she’s poised on the edge of her seat.
